Testimonials
Alan, Thank you so much for a very memorable day. Drew and I had a blast, and I know fly fishing will be a part of our lives from now on. I attached a picture of you and Drew and the fish (see photo at right under the McCloud River)!

The
Water ...
The McCloud River
The
McCloud River boasts magnificent scenery with lush colorful foliage and
varying water conditions, from sparkling clear to milky white. This is
one of our favorite rivers where you are likely to see a wide variety
of wildlife including osprey, bald eagle, deer, otter, fox, and mink.
The fly fishing is exceptional; the trout population is comprised of
brightly colored McCloud River rainbow trout that can be up to 30 inches,
but average 12 to 20 inches. This river also provides an angler with
the best opportunity of landing a trophy size brown trout. The McCloud
is accessible to both beginners and experts.
The Pit River
This
river is an infrequently fished treasure; the perfect stream
for those who are in search of large trout. This river has the
highest fish count in the area, with trout averaging about 14
inches. The Pit's habitat includes challenging areas for expert
fly fishermen as well as many opportunities for the novice. The
perfect trip for an adventurous angler.
Sacramento River
The
Upper Sacramento is a pristine freestone river with gin clear
water. It is the perfect place to refine your highstick nymphing
techniques on crystal pools and enhance your dry fly casting
over riffled runs. This river contains many large lake run rainbow
trout, providing phenomenal evening dry fly fishing.
